14k White Gold Garnets Band Ring - Vintage 14k White Gold Garnets Band - Vintage. This vintage 1960s 14k white gold band is a size 7.5. Six 4mm faceted pyrope garnets are set half way around the band. The garnets are a bright, strong red in good light. The band is marked 14k, and N, as a maker's mark, and is thick and sturdy.

Garnet have been used in jewelry since prehistoric times. They come in a wide range of colors, although reds are the most frequent. They are the birthstone for January. The word garnet comes from the Latin word granatum (grain/pomegranite). Like the pomegranite seed, the garnet means fertility, but also protection and regeneration. Therefore they were used in engagement rings long before diamonds; and by warriors for healing. They are said to offer protection to the traveler. Noah is fabled to have used a garnet as a light on the ark. DH157-07

1930s Sterling Pair Dress Clips With Opaline Stones 1930s Sterling Pair Dress Clips With Opaline Stones. Dress clips were extremely popular in the 1930s-40s and were worn in many ways--on necklines, pockets, collars, neck ribbons, necklaces, on evening bags, belts, shoes, and hats. We all forget what incredibly versatile accessories dress clips are.

This vintage 1930s pair of dress clips is all sterling with a gold wash that is very thin on the clip fronts. The 1 3/16" tall clips are quite weighty with lovely clip backs with scrollwork detail. Opaline glass cabochons show a lively color display. DH132-07
