Vintage 1940s Sterling Roses Necklace & Earrings Signed Lang This floral beauty by Lang will not wilt in the summer heat! Fully sculpted 3-D roses sit posed between perfect rose leaves. Can you imagine your bridal portrait wearing this stunner? The rose petals have a polished finish and will pick up some skin tone or clothing coloration to make a perfect marriage of fashion and beauty.

The vintage forties necklace measures 14 1/2" long and will fit one who is slender-necked, or anyone by using a ribbon or extender. Each rose link measures 1" long; and from oval to oval measures 1 1/2". The necklace has a good weight and is not fragile.

The necklace is signed with a sterling plaque on the reverse "Sterling" and "Lang". The Lang Company of Providence, Rhode Island, was known as a maker of good quality floral and figural sterling jewelry.

The accompanying sterling screwback earrings are also fashioned as fully-formed roses and measure 15/16" across. They are unmarked. DH-22-05

C1960 Signed Danish Enamel Necklace A glowingly soft guilloche enamel lights up this signed Danish Enamel necklace, and you, as you step out, ready for the big event. This c1960 vintage Nordic beauty has crisp, refined good looks and has remained a classic for decades.

The vermeil sterling necklace measures 16” when open, and 15 ¾” closed. Each enameled link measures about 15/16” long. The necklace and enameling are in beautiful condition. The vermeil on the reverse shows a light patina from age.

The box clasp is signed 925S and JB, probably for Johannes Bronee, Svendborg, Denmark, active 1955-1965. A lovely piece of yesterday's jewelry for today's woman. DH3-05

Early Napier Sterling Love Knot Earrings Early Napier Sterling Love Knot Clip Earrings. Lover’s knots were a common theme in Victorian sentimental jewelry. Recently, Celtic knotted patterns have been rediscovered and employed in everything from jewelry to tattoos. A true lover’s knot is a double one, in which the two knots are interwoven, and have equal parts.

These classic designer earrings have a wonderfully tailored look and rich patina. These vintage sterling earrings from Gianna's Gems are quite substantial and measure approximately 1" across. The knots are beautifully formed for a sculpted and realistic appearance. The clip backs are marked sterling and the signature is unusually placed on the end of the clips. Very good condition. Victorian Carved Onyx Horseshoe Stickpin Victorian Carved Onyx Horseshoe Stickpin. Long a charm for good luck, the horseshoe has in more recent years become linked with horse racing, and wealth. Some believe that the shoe should be placed upwards to catch good luck; others, to place the ends down, to pour luck out. Shoes also have seven nail holes, are made from iron, and are crescent-shaped; all features associated with good luck.

Horseshoes are among the many symbols that can be found in jewelry. Jewelry has power--in its message to others, and reminders to us. This Victorian stickpin measures 3 ¼” long. The horseshoe head is carved black and white onyx, surrounded by gilt metal. You might note that there are seven nail holes. A little rubbing to edges. A Gianna's Gem treasure from yesterday. DH44-05

Sterling Figural Brooch With Large Amethyst Sterling Figural Brooch With Large Amethyst. This sterling and amethyst figural brooch measures a little over 2" tall. The figure reminds me of famous ancient geoglyphs such as the Celtic chalk figures found on Southern England's hills. The figure wears a crown--there are dots inside the crewcut-like spikes. A 12mm x 16mm faceted amethyst of medium purple color is bezel-set as the figure's belly. There is an artist's touchmark on the reverse, but I have not been able to identify it. DH165-07 - $57

Vintage Sterling Basket with Roses and Fruit Brooch Vintage Sterling Basket with Roses and Fruit Brooch. This signed vintage brooch measures approximately 2" long. It is an unusually heavy sterling casting and should provide exceptionally long wear. The old-fashioned woven basket is viewed slightly from the bottom. It is laden with a variety of fruits, ferns and roses. The back has a modern safety catch and is marked "sterling", "CM&D" and "EI". Excellent condition. DH155-07
- $47

Carved Smoky Topaz Domed Ring Carved Smoky Topaz Domed Ring. This band is carved entirely of smoky topaz and is very sleek and sensuous to wear. It is brown in color and very transparent and unblemished. Size 9. Excellent condition.

Smoky topaz is a common name for the more correct name, smoky quartz. Giannas Gems believes this is naturally colored smoky quartz from Brazil, since irridated smoky quartz is very dark. DH164-07 - $60

Exotic Peruvian Handmade Sterling and 18k Gold Exotic Peruvian Handmade Sterling and solid 18 kt Gold Necklace. This large brooch/pendant necklace is not for wallflowers! There is a serious amount of silver and gold in this vintage artisan made piece.

Peruvian handicrafts were rated by “Parade Magazine” in the top ten for collectibles of the new millennium. When the conquistadors came to the Incan capital, Cuzco, the palace walls were literally covered in gold. Dressed in gold, the ruler sat on a solid gold throne. He used gold plates and cups. His personal garden contained flowers and statues of gold. Only the Inca chief wore and used this precious metal. This long tradition of Peruvian work in precious metals has placed Peru amongst the best of the world’s artisans.

In tiny villages of the Peruvian Andes, excellent craftsmen have carried on metalwork for centuries. Gianna offers this handmade necklace, which would have been made c1960-70. The pendant/brooch measures 2 ¼” long and centers an 18K llama. The back is signed “AMD, Peru, sterling, and 18K.” The 28” handmade chain is very impressive, with ½” long links. The necklace is reflecting backround from the camera shot. This piece is highly polished and a beautiful piece of yesterday's jewelry for today's woman! Excellent condition. LH20-05

James Avery Sterling and 14K Gold Butterfly Earrings James Avery Silver and 14 karat Gold Butterfly Earrings... Make waves! The Butterfly Effect, in theory, states that a butterfly beating its wings in Brazil, could cause a tornado in Kansas. In short, this describes the domino theory, with each tumble amplified. Whatever we do makes a change. With our appearance, especially around our face, people notice, if only subconsciously, everything.

Make the most of your ears with these sprightly fliers. Crafted by James Avery, the Texas-based fine gold and silver maker, these much sought-after and desirable earrings are now a retired design. Mirror-bright sterling butterflies will make you sparkle. The butterflies measure 1 1/2"; plus hooks measure 2". Signed with the JA symbol, 925, and 14 kt. Excellent condition. These are large earrings and a very collectable Gianna's Gem's offering! LH14-05

Aztec Sun Calendar Buckle Mexican Sterling and Crushed Turquoise Aztec Sun Calendar Buckle. The Aztec calendar, also called the “Sun Stone” is probably the most well-known symbol of Mexico. The original antique massive carving is a 12” wide basalt stone, which is three feet thick and weighs 25 tons. The calendar was used to count days: to determine religious holidays, planting times and lucky days. However, the calendar was also used to count years. The Aztec’s believed in the cyclical destruction and resurrection of their civilization. The calendar specifies five different cycles.

This large, handmade sterling buckle measures 3 3/8” across. Hand engraving and crushed turquoise embellish the surface surrounding the Aztec calendar. The back is signed “AOR”. Excellent condition. Yesterday's jewelry with ancient reminders.
Wearable today. LH24-05

Chinese Cloisonne and Aventurine Beads Chinese Cloisonne and Agate Beads Double Heart Necklace. Your pastel outfit will not be overpowered by Gianna's Gems light jade green aventurine beads. They are large beads though, and you will be noticed!

Aventurine is a type of quartz with good hardness and durability. Its pretty sparkling flecks are called aventurescence. Green aventurine is associated with the astrological signs Aries and Taurus. Aventurine is also considered to be lucky for gambler’s. It also has many complex meanings in the New Age world.

Two carved aventurine hearts are the central motif. The hearts measure 2.6” across and 1.6" high. The dark green Chinese cloisonné beads continue the summery theme and are softened by floral decoration. The aventurine beads measure 27” and the necklace measures 29" overall. Very good condition. Norwegian Sterling and Enamel Set Norwegian Sterling and Enamel Set. Norway is known for having the most varied climate in Europe, and has a wide range of flora and fauna. Siberian species grow in Norway's far north. In the mountains, many of its plants are alpine. It's ironic that the most fragile alpine flowers are actually the toughest of plants and must withstand the most grueling conditions. Does this remind you of the "weaker"sex? We also think of glass enameling as being terribly fragile. Norwegian enameling is known for being tougher. Gianna's Gems has worn a Norwegian enameled bracelet off and on for 40 years, with reasonable care, that still looks very good.

This crisp-looking set will bring a breath of fresh mountain air with you wherever you go. White guilloche enameled wildflowers on a 7" sterling bracelet will dance around your wrist. Each flower measures 0.5" by 0.5". A box safety clasp, [IMAGE2{ marked "925 crown sterling," tucks underneath a flower. One inch sterling enameled clip earrings complement the bracelet with a double helping of flowers. Mint Condition. LH48-05

Signed Pink, Green and Yellow Gold Retro Bow Brooch Signed Pink, Green and Yellow Gold Retro Bow Brooch. The bow, as an accessory, was popularized by the French, particularly the bow tie. It has always been an element of formal dress. The representation of flowing and folding 3D fabric in the Retro period is most notable in the bow, the most popular motif of the period. Gold in various colorations was also popular.

This very feminine vintage brooch is fashioned to form a tied bow, set on the side of a double wreath. The bow is strongly colored pink gold and pale green gold. The wreath is yellow gold. A prong set natural 5.5 mm faceted blue zircon centers the bow. Blue zircon was a popular choice from the 1920s-40s because of it's outstanding color, very high refraction, and striking contrast to pink gold. Size is 1 3/4" high x 1 1/2" wide. The pin closure is the old style of safety catch. It is marked 10K and has the maker's mark of SEMCO. Very good condition.
