Sterling Figural Brooch With Large Amethyst. This sterling and amethyst figural brooch measures a little over 2" tall. The figure reminds me of famous ancient geoglyphs such as the Celtic chalk figures found on Southern England's hills. The figure wears a crown--there are dots inside the crewcut-like spikes. A 12mm x 16mm faceted amethyst of medium purple color is bezel-set as the figure's belly. There is an artist's touchmark on the reverse, but I have not been able to identify it.
