In Front Row at the White House by Helen Thomas, a book by the long-time political reporter, she writes...
"...the centrifugal force of our departure from the president's room had spun the poor C.A.B. (public relations) man like a celluloid windmill in a strong wind. Mr. Roosevelt was pop-eyed with amazement when the crowd cleared. Flat on the floor in front of the gadget-littered presidential desk was a figure looking all the world like a corpse." Celluloid windmills were a common five-and-dime store Depression Era novelty. DH209-07 - $55

Vintage Turquoise Chrysanthemum Bracelet and Earrings Set. This vintage 1940s-1950s bracelet measures 7 3/4" long. The earrings are screwbacks and measure about 1" across.
Graduated disks of subtley colored chrysanthemum flowers are riveted into silvertone disks. The central flowers have a fancy silvertone border. I believe that the flowers are celluloid since chrysanthemums were a popular choice for the Japanese in their production of celluloid jewelry. Wide ribbed links complement the design. DH234-07

The backs show signs of hand-carving to remove mold marks. Excellent condition.
Featherlite was a material used in the 1950s to form very detailed jewelry. Often it is confused with celluloid. However, it is described as a Meerschaum-like clay material, which is why the molding would be so fine. DH250-07
