This 1930s bowling motif necklace is a rare piece of memorabilia from the world of sports. A red celluloid chain supports a miniature set of 1 ½” tall wood bowling pins centering a walnut-colored wooden bowling ball with little finger holes. The perky, red paint-striped bowling pins and ball swing from small brass rings. There is a dark spot on one pin which is actually dark grain in the wood. The necklace measures 16 1/4” long.

Occupied Japan Black Celluloid Scottie Brooch. This sweet doggy has been handpainted. His coat is black and glossy. He put his nose somewhere he shouldn't have. It has a little paint loss which could easily be touched up. His polka-dotted bow is bright red with a pink and white flower at the center. A bright turquoise eye and red tongue. Vintage Coral Celluloid Flower Basket Brooch. This 1930s Victorian Revival celluloid pin is coral-colored, a color sometimes referred to as "salmon". It measures a dainty 1 3/16" tall . Pair of Featherlite/ Bubblelite Japanese Chrysanthemum Brooches. Called featherlite, featherlight, featherweight, bubblelite, and bubblelight, the material of these brooches can stump people and create a lot of confusion. It is often classified with plastics, but is described as a meerschaum-like clay material. It was most used by the Japanese in the post-war period, usually in finely detailed floral items that resemble celluloid. At any rate, it is another category of jewelry in which good samples are disappearing.
These brooches each measure 1 3/8" across, with a myriad of white petals. The shadow areas and central stamens are tinted with a black wash of paint. The backs show a little unevenness to the edges from the mold. Very good, clean condition.
The chrysanthemum is a revered Japanese flower. It is the official seal of the emperor and is honored in Japan during National Chrysanthemum Day. DH128-07 - $36

Large Vintage Frosted Lucite and Featherlite Earrings. These clip earrings (1945-1955) measure 1 1/2" across. The material featherlite, which is like a meerschaum clay, is capable of being intricately molded. This featherlite setting of flowers and lace is ivory in color and is enhanced by clear rhinestones.
